Activity 2.4 - Camera Accessories
A tripod is a “three-legged frame” that is easy to carry around. Photographer use this to stabilize or support the weight of the camera to capture a still and motion photgraphs. Usually used for a slow-speed exposures. It also helps to produce a stabilized image.

Monopod only has one leg or it is basically a pole to support photographers capture stabilized image or at least reduce the shake from our body. The difference between tripods and monopods is that monopods cannot support the camera by itself, unlike tripods. It needs something big to lean on, which it could be the photographer controlling how they want to use it.

Flash
A device used in photography that produces light used to illuminate a scene. By using a flash, it can make dark skin brighter.

Strobe
It is a portable lights that usually used to replace regular camera flashes. It is used to illuminate shadow and a good lighting for still photography.

Continues Lighting
Big lights that have more lighting than the strobe lights.

Soft Box
A big black box used to soften the light. cr
Umbrella
Used with the light to bounce/reflect the light to create soft light.

Barn Doors
Accessory used on light to control the direction of output and the width of the beam.

Gels
Coloured acetate sheet to alter the colour of your lighting. They are transparent so when you place them over your light they will change colour.

Gobos
Could be a piece of cardboard place beside the light of your camera used to control the shape of emitted light.
Reflectors
A photography item used to reflect light towards your subject and change the quality of the light.
Light Meters
A device used to measure brightness/the amount of light.
Card Readers
Another device to transfer your picture to the computer instead of using a cord from your camera to the computer.
